Recording agent rental statements

Recording agent rental statements

Sometimes it's convenient to use a letting agent particularly for dealing with rent collection and maintenance. A good agent will send you rental statements with details of rent collected minus any costs.

The temptation is to put the statements to one side. However, for Provestor software to accurately calculate taxes and profits, details from the rental statements need to be entered into Provestor.
Provestor cannot guarantee the accuracy of LiveCash, tax or profit calculations without rental statements being added as an invoice

Replicating rental statements

To replicate statements you create an invoice that matches your statement exactly.

It is important to add separate line items to your invoices for the different items on your statement. This ensure the costs are treated correctly in your accounts and tax calculations.

Provestor tip
Set-up a repeating invoice for your agent statements. If an agents rental statement is different to the default invoice generated, simply edit that invoice once generated to match the agent statement
